Famous Rappers Turned Actors


Tupac Shakur: Made a half dozen movies before his murder in 1996, his best being "Above The Rim" (1994). Also appeared on TV's "A Different World".

Ice Cube: Has been in several hit films "Boyz N The Hood", "Friday", "Anaconda", "Three Kings", "Barbershop". Also has produced and has even tried directing.

LL Cool J: Most recently has appeared on the hit TV series "NCIS: Los Angeles". Before that has starred in numerous films including "Rollerball", "Any Given Sunday" and "Deep Blue Sea".

Eminem: Had a big hit with the 2002 film "8 Mile" and even won an Oscar for best song. Slim Shady was also hilarious as himself in the movie "Funny People".



Ice T: Has had most of his success on TV. Co-stars on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and plays himself on reality TV's "Ice Loves Coco".

Queen Latifah: Lots of hit films for Queen Latifah. She's starred in "Chicago", "Bringing Down The House", "Hairspray" and "Valentine's Day". She was also the voice of a woolly mammoth in the Ice Age Movies.

Mos Def: One of my favourite rappers turned actors. He was great in "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy", also appeared in "Showtime", "Monster's Ball", "16 Blocks" and "Be Kind Rewind".

Ludacris: He was quite good in "Crash", which won the Academy Award for best picture for 2005. Also Appeared in a couple of Fast & Furious films.

50 Cent: He Made his big screen acting debut in "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" (2005). 50 has been in several movies since then, including co-starring with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in "Righteous Kill" (2008).

Snoop Dogg: He's made numerous appearances on TV and in movies, but is most memorable as Huggy Bear in "Starsky And Hutch".
